LEONARD SUMNER with Julian Balbachir
Opening: Colin Easthope
Date has been post poned - New date to be determined
Leonard Sumner has been called "one of the most important, vital new voices of the First Nations roots music scene in Canada. In truth, Sumner could be categorized as one of the most important, vital new voices in the entire Canadian roots music scene." - Island Music Fest
"In First Nations cultures, traditional songs and stories communicate histories, life lessons and philosophy from one generation to the next. Anishinaabe poet, singer/songwriter and MC Leonard Sumner has woven an enticing roots-blues-rap-country fusion around that traditional content. Unblinkingly honest, Sumner’s lyrics are defiant yet vulnerable, and deliver the message: We are still here and our voices must be heard." - Calgary Folk Fest
Experience an unforgettable evening of music as Leonard Sumner makes a stop in Salmon Arm with special guest Julian Belbachir, an Australian-Moroccan producer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer who bridges ancestral folkloric traditions with contemporary production.

In Memory of Lyn Thurston
This beautiful handcrafted memorial bench was purchased with donations from friends and family of Lyn Thurston and placed at Gleneden Hall in her loving memory.
Sandy Giszas and Coleen Thurston, both serving on the Gleneden Community Association Board, chose the Hall as the location for this lasting tribute. It offers a welcoming place to sit, chat, and reflect.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making this meaningful gift possible.

Martin Harley - Live at Gleneden Hall
Saturday, May 9 - 8:00 pm
Gleneden Hall is pleased to welcome acclaimed UK singer-songwriter and slide guitar master Martin Harley for an intimate evening of roots-driven music.
For three decades, UK singer-songwriter Martin Harley has captivated audiences worldwide with his spellbinding slide guitar style and ability to blend Americana, blues, and folk.
Harley’s sold-out shows and major festival appearances, including Glastonbury, reveal a remarkable talent for creating a down-to-earth sound that is both intimate and engaging. He’s earned nominations for the Americana Music Awards’ Instrumentalist of the Year and Best Acoustic Blues Artist. He has collaborated with Jerry Douglas and Derek Mixon and toured with Bruce Hornsby, Iron and Wine and others.
Harley was influenced for life from his 2007 travels through West Africa, where he played with local musicians, including Malian desert blues singer and guitarist Vieux Farka Toure. Among his eight albums, his 2012 record Mojo Fix, recorded in Texas with guests Carlos Santana and Steve Winwood, helped to establish his fan base in the USA. His 2024 release, the ambitious Morning Sun features percussion from Michael Blair (Tom Waits, Lou Reed), as well as two well-known members of the UK Americana scene, Mark Lewis on bass and Chris (CJ) Hillman on pedal steel.
